What's it all about

Dawn Hoof is a local entrepreneur born and bred in Somerset and ‘Big Hoof Farms’ is home to her obscure agricultural inventions, petting pig orchard and business offices. She is a passionate wheeler dealer on a mission to bring BIG BUSINESS to the West Country. Forget Dubai, it’s all about Dulderford! We really want to get stuck into the world of Dawn Hoof! So we’ve come up with some initial sketches/scenarios for her below. These would all be shot in the style of the chort submitted, on greenscreen with graphics overlaid for comedic effect. Dawn Hoof ‘How To’ videos (Hoof To) - Dawn creates a series of local business inspired explainer videos drawing from her wealth of ‘knowledge’ of GDPR and crazy inventions i.e. Reviewing the features of a K34X leaf blower, explaining how to make a profit from slurry and the harvest festival fruits explained one by one in great detail.

Dawn on THE YOUTUBE - Dawn monopolises on YouTube trends at Big Hoof Farm. She launches a range of unpackaging videos of rakes and hoof dip, reacts to videos of different barns online and tries ASMR for the first time.

Dairy Dawn - Dawn has a bust up with the yoghurt factory after they win local business funding. She launches her own range of yoghurts in response.

It’s just Dawned - Dawn has a revelation to branch into event work at Big Hoof and pulls together a calendar of events for a promotional video - including hosting a singles speed dating event on the farm, a series of wedding packages and a special selection of agricultural workshops for children.

A new Dawn - Dawn has been asked by the local newspaper ‘Minehead Today’ to offer advice about local issues by giving her a page on their newly launched HTML website. Dawn answers questions from locals such as ‘My husbands shoe got caught in a butter churn last week - what should I do?’ and ‘How many ponies are too many ponies? I own 500 now’

Glitzy Dawn - Dawn has been asked to present an award at the Somerset Business of the year awards. Little does she know the award has been given to the Yeovil Yoghurt Factory. She gets glammed up.

Dawn Hoof was created and performed by Rosie Turner who has previously worked with Hoopla Comedy, The Roundhouse and BBC Studios to perform and film comedic work including scripting and performing character comedy for CBeebies and a sketch show produced by comedy writer Gemma Arrowswmith with Hoopla Impro this summer. The creative team for ‘Big Hoof Farms’ is made up of Filmmaker Charlie Firth who has worked for YouTube and Facebook as a Digital Creator, Charlie has an in-depth knowledge of YouTube formats, a strong understanding of video for social and a great creative eye, so is perfect for this web series! Our Director Mikey Nissenbaum has created and directed his own short films including Voicemail and Reservation in Hell as well as having produced work for the Roundhouse, BBC and award winning comedy content for URN. Stephanie Francia assisted with this project. Stephanie works on the YouTube team for BBC Studios and offers great insight into formats for videos, taglines and creative style.
